(November 2020): I have now had this unit in operation for several years and it continues to operate perfectly. I am constantly appalled by the cheap, poorly made stuff that's for sale but this unit is not one of them. It appears their business model is to sell a reasonably priced appliance that will have a reputation for quality and rely on reviews and word of mouth to sell a lot of them-what a refreshing approach! Please be assured that I have no financial interest in this product.

Update: I've been the using the system for about 3 months now and it actually performs better than the original. I not longer get the drip and sputtering I used to get and the recovery time of tank seems to be faster when compared to my original Insinkerator.
Under closer inspection I think it’s identical to the mountain plumbing products unit underneath the casing.
I reused a fitting from old unit and used one of the quick connections to attach the copper line. Working well with no leaks so far.
