Brita Grand Water Filter Pitcher, White
Enjoy healthier*, great-tasting water with the Brita Grand Water Filter Pitcher. The Brita Grand comes with a filter that reduces undesirable tastes and odors found in tap water. The electronic indicator reminds you when it's time to change the filter. With a large 10-cup capacity, the Brita Grand provides a convenient and cost-effective alternative to buying bottled water.
Filter Provides Great-Tasting Water
The Brita Grand Water Filter Pitcher comes with one activated carbon and ion-exchange resin filter that reduces chlorine taste and odor, zinc taste, copper, mercury, and cadmium* often found in tap water. Electronic Indicator Tells You When to Replace Filter
An electronic indicator on the Brita Grand reminds you to change the filter, ensuring your drinking water is at its most refreshing. The indicator has a simple light system: a blinking green light indicates that the filter is good, a blinking yellow light reminds the user that the filter needs to be changed soon, and a red light blinks after 2 months** or 640 pours*** to show that it is time to replace the filter.
Easy to Use
This water filter pitcher has a soft grip handle for comfort and a flip-top lid that makes it easy to refill. With a sleek, space-efficient shape, the Brita Grand can be stored on your countertop for room temperature water or in your refrigerator for a colder drink. *Certified to reduce Copper & Mercury. Contaminants reduced may not be in all users’ water. **Filter should be replaced after 40 gallons/151 liters (about 2 months for the average family). ***Based on 8 oz. pours; indicator logic does not account for product misuse.

There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
Her response was the same as mine initially - and the same as my opinion after a year of use. These are very convenient to have, hold a decent amount of water, and fit nicely in most fridge door slots for milk/juice.
Things to note:
-When full, the pitcher isn't that easy to hold as it gets heavy from the water and the handle design isn't very ergonomic. All the water weight puts strain on your wrist (probably not an issue for men, but some females have made this remark to me when using mine).
-Lid isn't very secure. If you overfill the pitcher, water stays in the "fill" basin and can easily splash out when you tilt the pitcher to poor. The lid doesn't lock in, it simply slides on. It does slide on pretty snug, so its not loose or easily moving. But it come pop open water is still in the basin when you're pouring.
Oh, and rule #1 for using a Brita: change the filter annually, not every 3 months. Unless you are some odd clean freak, these filters will give you great tasting water for at least a year. I changed my first one after 3 months, second one recently at 12 months of use and the water tasted great the whole time.
**Update**
I figured out why folks are having problems with the lid. The other day I was in a rush and didn't have time to wait for the water to completely filter through before I poured. So I attempted to pour a glass while it was still full in the top and bam! The top came off spilling water everywhere. Clearly that is user error. I'm sure if the manufacturers made the top tight enough for it not to come off while water was in the top, then people would be complaining about how hard the top is to take off. So they can't win. I prefer the top just the way it is. My advice is if you don't like waiting for the water to filter, then just make sure you never let the pitcher get empty.
I almost didn't buy this because of the reviews about the lid not staying on. Here is the "Lid problem" in a nutshell. This unit has an upper level reservoir which holds the water until it can filter down through the included filter. However, if you try to pour out a glass of water before it has had a chance to fully filter the water in the reservoir down into the bottom chamber, the lid tends to come off because there is still water in the upper chamber, thereby forcing the lid off because it has nowhere else to go.
The "Lid problem" is not an actual problem at all. What it amounts to is a "lack of common sense" problem on the users part.

This is the largest pitcher I could find. I was nervous ordering it because of some of the reviews about leaking lids, defective filter replacement light, and flimsy spout. I've now been using the filter for approximately 3 months. The "change filter" light recently turned red, right about when it should have. I love the pitcher but would like to "reply" to some of the common complaints:
LEAKING LID - The upper reservoir (the part above the filter) has about half the capacity of the filtered water area. This means that from empty, you can fill it three times after letting the water filter each time. What I've found is that if there is water in the upper reservoir and I try and pour a glass, water tends to spill out from the upper reservoir. For me, this isn't a concern - I only fill the upper reservoir when the filtered water area gets down to about halfway. I then refill and put in the fridge... 5 minutes later, and the filtered water area is full. If you are constantly pouring water, I can see this being very annoying. For a couple or small family, I don't see it as an issue.
FILTER REPLACEMENT LIGHT - There is no sticky plastic thing that you manually reset each time you change the filter. Instead, the filler lid senses when it has been opened (and left open for more than a few seconds). A green LED blinks when you refill. Once the preset number of fills has been done, a red LED turns on when you open the filler lid. So far, so good. Honestly, if it quit working, I wouldn't care... I can always set a calendar (or phone) alarm every few months to prompt me to change the filter.
FLIMSY SPOUT COVER - There is a flimsy cover that sits over the spout when you're not pouring. I'm not sure what you could accidentally bang it on to knock it off, but it does look flimsy. But really, who cares? My last Brita jug didn't even have a cover.
A few other comments:
- This is very convenient to refill - instead of removing the whole lid (as with my previous Brita), a small section flips up
- This jug gets heavy when completely full (upper reservoir + filtered water section)
- The new filters work very well keeping the black carbon beads out of sight
Overall, I'm glad I bought this jug despite some negative reviews on here.

The water tastes fine there is no plastic taste. The only thing that concerns me is that I don’t believe this pitcher is for everyone. When you fill it up it ends up having some weight to it. Anyone not having strong wrists or forearms may struggle with the weight of a full pitcher. The handle is not designed to compensate for the weight distribution which is a design flaw.
Aside from this flaw it filters well. It’s a good purchase for the most part.
