There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
Only very minor complaint is that the filter box (thin overboard like a tissue box) was shipped in a plastic bag, so it got a little banged up in shipping. No biggie, but would be nice to ship it in a box instead.

Short answer…. Buy the Bunn 8-12 cup filter. They are bigger and filter properly.
My problem was simple. Bonavita supplied the coffee maker with about 2-dozen filters. Oddly, Bonavita does not sell additional filters. Once the freebies were gone, I needed to buy filters. Melitta is the prevalent brand. So we bought Melitta 8-12 cup 200 count. This turned out badly.
We brew store bought ground coffee; Starbucks French Roast. We favor a ratio of 17:1 by weight. This means a lot of coffee in the filter basket. The Bonavita supplied filters worked fine. The Melitta 8-12 filters overflowed. I started searching for a “taller” filter.
The only way to properly measure paper filters for basket strainers is the diameter. Once wet, the paper will properly form to closely fit the contours of your basket. Photo #1 shows three filters. The original Bonavita supplied freebies, the Melitta 8-12, and the Bunn 8-12.
It turns out; the problem is NOT the size, but the porosity of the filter paper. Without getting “down into the weeds” with the mathematics, the Melitta are less porous than the Bunn, and simply did not drain as well as the filters supplied by Bonavita. Slow draining equals overflowing. Look again at the photos. The most telling is the last image, the filter basket with the wet grounds, and the level well below the top of the paper. This is the Bunn 8-12 filter.
As to the flavor and taste, we found no difference between the three filters, however the Bunn filtered coffee was entirely free of the annoying overflows and a cup with grounds in the last few sips. Go Bunn 8-12!

At first glance these seem quite similar to generic, "off-brand" filters readily available in most grocery stores. But they are NOT the same, and it DOES make a difference.
The box indicate that these filters "tower:" a cute pun, not-so-true figuratively, because they are made of standard coffee filter material -- permeable, pleated white paper.
But "towering" filters are very important literally if you use them in a Bunn coffee-maker.
Because of their greater height in comparison to the generic filters in stores, these do not permit wet grounds to find their way over their top edge, into the plastic funnel -- a challenging and necessary clean-up if generic filters are used.
They also do not permit most of the grounds to find their way into the Bunn carafe along with the rest of your coffee -- another good thing.
For ease of cleanup and for a "proper cup of coffee," these are worth the price.
