The hose length is just right, and connects to the regulator where a small tank would. Customers are mixed about the connectivity of the outdoor recreation product. Some mention that it connects perfectly between the 20 lb tank and the regulator that came, making a solid connection. However, others say that it does not connect to your typical Home Depot propane tank, has issues with the connector, and does not fit into the grill.

One quick note is to be sure to take note of the direction arrows on the black plastic fitting that attaches the hose to the propane tank as I believe they are left-handed threads for tightening to the tank using the “inside” threads on the tank instead of the “outside” threads that my bbq regulator connects to. Hope this is helpful.

So I purchased a Stansport version of this connector first because the Coleman one was out of stock, and i figured how different could they be, Long story short there was a leak and it ignited my tank and lit part of my garage on fire (PSA Do not by stansport bran Propane hoses dropping this info here because after writing a review on that listing with pictures and video of the damages it was pulled from the site), Anyway after returning that one I found this one back in stock and I was very happy to see it, Coleman, by far has the best QA on camping equipment and its super affordable, I have never received a faulty part form Coleman and I have been buying their products for over 30 years, and my parents before that, I have used and abused Coleman products for decades and they stand the testament of time, and I still have coolers my dad got in the 50's that have seen millions of miles and still rocking it. And to no surprise this Hose works great, feels like better material than the other one, and did not cause a fire in my garage when testing it out, A win win all around :)
I deduced something could be blocking in the hose. Air/water/whatever? I never did figure that out but my only option was to find a way to clear the hose passageway. I turned on the grill and let it burn (irregular and weak flames). While burning, I turned off the propane tank and let the grill burn up the remaining gas in the hose until the flame died. I then turn on the propane tank and let it fill up the hose again and repeatedly ignite the burner. This approach works! So was it a lousy hose or was it due to elements caused by the varying weather since my grill is out in the yard 24x7? Anyhow, clearing the hose appears to solve the problem for me multiple times.
If the hose is still working, why then did I rate it as 3-star? It's because I don't think a propane hose should require any maintenance at all. Just like a garden hose, it should behave as expected and not require workaround. I'm planning to get a different brand hose and see if such problem persist. If it doesn't, this rating should drop to 2-star.

Hose still working good despite the intermittent weak flames issue. It appears my 'clear the hose' method resolved the issue consistently each time it occurs. I'm deducing it is the combination of changing weather (my grill is outdoor all the time) and long period of non-usage that caused the issue. In all fairness, since the hose is operating fine for more than 2 years now, I'm bumping the rating from 3 to 4 stars.
The side that connects to your portable units is the same across the board since that is universal. The tank side of this hose though threads into the female side of the tank valve, as opposed to the new ones that thread onto the outer more coarse threaded male side. I like this better myself, since it doesn't leak as easy and it is easier to get it tight, also since it is finer threaded. Not to worry though, the tank valves still have that connection since that is how the tanks are also filled. Just remember the threads are reversed though, so you turn it counter clockwise to tighten it.
This hose pays for itself in no time flat. The little green canisters of propane are 1 pound, and cost way too much. The cheapest I have seen them were 6 bucks for a two pack at Walmart (3 bucks a piece). The most expensive place will fill my 20 pound tank for 21.99, which saves about $40 over using 20 canisters. Now, I live near an Indian reservation, and I can get that tank filled there for 11.99, which cuts the cost in half. You don't even have to use a whole 20 pound cylinder for this to pay for itself in savings.

I am using this on a Mr Heater propane heater. It is a lot cheaper than using the small Coleman 1lb cylinders. No tools required to fit.
