Product Description
Included components of the Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus Processor Pulse controlled buttons
Why Is This The Perfect Mini Processor For You?
The Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus Processor handles a variety of food preparation tasks including chopping, grinding, puréeing, emulsifying and blending. The patented auto-reversing SmartPower blade provides a super-sharp edge for the delicate chopping of herbs and for blending and puréeing other soft foods. The blunt edge offers a powerful cutting surface to grind through spices and other hard foods. Pulse activation gives maximum control for precision processing, whether chopping or grinding. Spatula, product manual and recipe booklet included.
Using Your Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus Processor
The powerful high-speed 250-Watt motor works hard and fast to accomplish any small job with ease. Chop herbs, onions, garlic; grind spices, hard cheese, purée baby foods; blend mayonnaise and flavored butters, all with the same compact appliance. The Mini-Prep Plus Processor takes up minimum counter space and stores neatly on the countertop or in a cabinet.
Best Practices When Using Your Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus Processor
Size
Always cut large pieces of food into smaller pieces of even size – about 1/2-Inch. If you don't start with pieces that are small and uniform, you will not get an even chop.
Quantity
You don’t want to overload the 3-Cup work bowl. Use the quantities given in the included recipe section of the product manual. As a rule of thumb, remember that after being processed, food should not reach more than 2/3 of the way up the central hub of the blade assembly.
Selecting the Right Operating Control
Use the Chop function for chopping, puréeing and mixing. It’s the best option, for example, when chopping soft, fragile food such as herbs, celery, onions, garlic and most cheeses. It is also the right choice for puréeing cooked vegetables, making mayonnaise and mixing salad dressing. Pulse action is best when you are using the chop function. Two or three pulses are often enough.
Use the Grind function for grinding spices, and for chopping hard food such as peppercorns, seeds, chocolate and nuts. Continuous-hold action is best when you are using the grind function.
Adding Liquid
You can add liquids such as water, oil or flavoring while the machine is running. For example, you might want to add oil when making mayonnaise or salad dressing, or you could add vanilla or alcohol when making frozen yogurt. Pour the liquid through one of the two openings in the cover.
Removing Food From the Sides of the Bowl
Occasionally food will stick to the sides of the bowl as you process. Stop the machine to clear food away. After the blade has stopped moving, remove the cover, and use the spatula to scrape the food from the sides of the bowl back into the center.
Cleaning and Storage
Read to clean up? No problem! To simplify cleaning, rinse the work bowl, cover, and blade immediately after each use, so that food won’t dry on them. Wash blade assembly, work bowl, cover, and spatula in warm soapy water. If you have a dishwasher, you can wash the work bowl, cover, blade assembly, and spatula on the top rack.
The Mini-Prep Plus Processor stores neatly on the countertop in a minimum of space. The hidden cord storage underneath the motor base will help to keep excess cord off the countertop. Store the unit assembled to prevent loss of parts.

This little 250-watt workhorse comes in handy when a full-size food processor is unnecessary. The 3-cup work bowl is just right for making pesto or a salad dressing, and two receptacles in the lid have pinholes for one or two oils to stream into the bowl while the processor is blending a perfect emulsion. It's also ideal for chopping and grinding. Pressing the "chop" button deploys the sharp edge of Cuisinart's patented reversible blade to chop onions, herbs, or bread crumbs. Pressing the "grind" button whirls the blade in the other direction so its blunt side can grind nuts, coffee beans, or cheese. Compact at just 9 inches high and lightweight (it has a plastic body), the Mini Prep Plus can be tucked away in a cabinet, and the little spatula accompanying it goes into a drawer. It carries an 18-month warranty against defects. The plastic work bowl and lid are dishwasher-safe, but the stainless-steel blade should be hand washed to protect its edges. --Fred Brack

I have been using and partly hating Cuisinart for 30 years. The large models leak through the central stem; they need to be scraped down frequently during operation, they are difficult to clean, as some parts collect food and cannot be flushed out, and the plastic tabs break eventually. I do not subject the parts to harsh dishwasher conditions and have a score of special brushes to clean the parts.
This small processor is actually more powerful in some regards because it operates differently, which is poorly explained by the manufacturer. The two buttons "chop" and "grind" are named so that they give you no idea of how they are different. Operating it clarifies everything. One works clockwise and the other anti-clockwise, presenting a different blade surface, elevation and angle. Alternating between the two shifts the bowl contents back to the blade, sort of. And here is my main disappointment: it doesn't puree small amounts. I put in two stems of steamed broccoli with hopes of creaming it. It chops everything into tiny bits and sprays them all over the entire bowl, the underside of the lid, the sides. I scraped the bowl down to put everything on the bottom again and the blades just blew everything back without making the particles smaller. I added water and it splattered around into a chopped mess with water, but it was impossible to make it puree.
Cleaning is really a snap. Immediately run the three pieces (lid, bowl, blade) under water and that's it. If there is grease in the bowl, use soapy water, but it hasn't needed scrubbing yet.
It was able to handle something my large Cuisinart couldn't: making bone meal. This small unit minced bones into bone meal in a flash. My large Cuisinart got stuck every 4-5 seconds when it wedged a bone between the blade and the bowl.
Having both sizes is a great advantage. I need to process small amounts of fresh vegetables and fruits to add to every meal for my dog. I have tried several manual mills, juicers, presses, ricers, grates, and have settled on this Cuisinart as the most effective processor. Being the easiest to clean, the least expensive and no problem to add to a crowded kitchen makes it a great solution.
I just wish it worked more like a blender, being able to pull the bowl contents back for reprocessing instead of splattering them. I will not use the ninja pulse smoothie blenders because they have gasket issues that harbor mold and break down. Until someone designs something better, this Cuisinart is probably my best option.
I'm happy with it. It's easy to clean, easy to store away, and I like the little spatula that comes with it. It chopped garlic, ginger, parsley well. It did take a few minutes to get chopped down to really fine paste, but it worked.
I also chopped hazelnuts into hazelnut butter. It heated up but did the job. Not the most powerful but I have a bigger more powerful food processor that I rarely use, because it's so big and bulky to take out, clean, and put away. This one is a nice and light and works well enough that I will use regularly.
This small unit wirks just fine for chopping down pasta, chicken nuggets, soups, etc.
It's easy to clean and after few tries I've found sweet spot for textures. Not too fine not too big. Yep, this unit is a game changer for anyone who's chopper challenged.
My only concern is the loose ness of the plastic handle. I hope it doesn't break
This is way better for daily use than my regular sized blender and cuz of small footprint I can leave on counter.
I recommend and would purchase again.

I love to cook. I love to experiment, combine foods, use bay leaves where they've never been used before, and generally turn the sense of taste into an adventure. However, things have lately been complicated by the fact that I have developed autonomic dysfunction, which has kept me on bed rest, and gastroparesis, which has altered what I can eat and especially the consistency at which I can eat it. Hummus, mashed potatoes, and soft, bite-sized pastas are fine, as are sauces. Bread, coarse vegetables, and any meal that incorporates too many elements are problematic. I could eat hummus, and I could eat rice, and I could even enjoy fetta, but a Mediterranean meal that incorporated all of these simultaneously would be too much for my insides at the moment. I love vegetables, but here again, they have made the consistency of my meals much too busy for one fragile gut and appetite. But I love adding twenty flavours to one casserole!--now what? For the longest time, we had a blender, but it was just that--a tall container for mixing and pouring smoothies and shakes. If you really only want to grind or chop half a cup of food, it's more trouble than it's worth to scrape your puree out of such a tall container. However, most of the food processors we looked at were either too costly or too technologically advanced for our old-school family, or both. UNTIL...
My sister found this food processor. I would say it was wonderful for the price, but in reality, I'd be willing to spend up to $150 on something that has made my life this much easier. Its capacity is perfect--we never need to process more than three cups at a time--and this processor works better than any other electric kitchen appliance we've ever owned. Another reviewer noted rightly that it works quickly, so if you don't want a fine puree, you do want to watch it--that button means it when it says "GRIND!" However, the one other button, the control for chopping, is very affective in doing just that--coarse vegetables can be ours, if we so desire. Never again will I have to laboriously mince or chop onions by hand when I'm well--I'll let this processor do my teary, dirty work! So, not everything comes out purred unless you want it to. I recently asked a family member to process some dry ingredients to make a breadcrumb-type crust, with instructions that "it shouldn't be like powder--more like the consistency of dried oats." My loved-one and the food processor did a FINE job--pun intended! My family really appreciates how easy it is to scoop or pour the processed food, how easy the cup is to wash, and the basic design. We aren't a family who really enjoys touchscreens, digital readouts, and other technological advances that turn our appliances into computers--we didn't need any extras beyond grinding and chopping and, happily, this processor doesn't feature anything beyond that. As for me, I can't say enough about how much more beautiful eating has become once again. For close to a month, I put food into my body because I didn't want to take more drastic measures, but that was all it was--ingesting nutrients, no more. Now that I can grind veggies, herbs, certain meats, nuts, and virtually anything else into an appropriate consistency, food is the lively, joyful, enheartening experience it has always been. Nowadays, I typically keep a soft starch base, puree the rest, and-voila!--TASTY, non-bland, nutritious food. Broccoli, olives, mushrooms, whole garlic, and other edibles may not be at their premium this way, but at least I can eat them, whereas I was formerly stuck with plain hummus and mild pastas. What a difference! If you or a loved-one have a medical condition that makes a softer but not necessarily bland diet necessary, and if you're looking for a basic, easy product, this one may make you, too, cry when you pass it as you go about your day--right there, on the counter, waiting for you, just waiting to grind more delicion for someone in nutritional need...

I can smell the engine when I run it even when using an adaptor. I think the wattage is too high for the EU. Also can’t put the barrel in the dishwasher or food gets stuck in side the handle and it has a special type of screw to unscrew it so I can’t get it clean. Don’t buy.
