Transfer of mounting adhesive from the workspace, hands, gloves, etc. to the work is a common issue with the Scotch product. No matter how hard you try eventually a little ball or patch of adhesive will end up on the wrong side (front) of your print and they are very hard to remove without damaging the print. The Pik-Up eraser is the only product I've found that fixes these problem areas completely and cleanly.
I've only used the Pik-Up Eraser for small spots; it may also work as well for larger areas but can't attest to that. I used the sharp edges and corners of the eraser to gently daub and wipe at the spot. When I got some adhesive to come off, I cleaned off the eraser and continued. I lightly rubbed in different patterns using reflected light from the surface to guide my movements. When the initial spot was gone, it looked like there was a dull spot left but this was just a thin layer of unremoved adhesive so I went on until the dull area was gone. When I was done, I could not tell where the original spot had been and there was no damage or marring of the surface. Total elapsed time 1-2 minutes.
This product has earned a top spot in my photographer's toolkit. Highly recommended.
Gently rub this little square on the dried rubber cement and it'll do the trick!
