Important information
Directions
1) Start with a small section, apply styling product from root to tip and make sure that the section is properly detangled. 2) Wrap the ends first and rotate your hair around the same area 1-2 times. 3) Space the strands close together for a tight curl & further apart for a looser curl. Fold the ends to secure Flexirod. 4) Always allow your hair to dry completely before taking down. Air dry or use a dryer. 5) To take down, unravel in the opposite direction. Twirl the ends of curl around your finger to eliminate frizz. 6) Use a hair pick to lift and fluff your roots.

Curls are a different beast. They take special treatment and tools in order for them to act the way we want to. For example, a few thoughts/lessons we curly haired girls are told: don't brush, definitely don't brush when wet, use a wide-tooth comb only, moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! A gel can dry out your curls, so use a cream, use a conditioning shampoo or no shampoo at all, find out who makes the thickest conditioner, chances are the cheap drugstore shampoos are not good enough, don't wash more than once or twice per week, but if you wait too long, your curls will soon become dreads, scrunch up, don't pull down, comb it out in the shower, prepare to spend at least 20 minutes combing out your hair each shower, etc. etc!
So when a new product comes along, which is not too often for my curly hair, it is heaven sent! And that's what these foam rollers are! I truly feel like this product brings out the best in my curls. It's my hair...but better!!
1. comb hair out with leave-in conditioner
2. put in your favorite product (I just discovered Pantene Pro-V controlling curl creme, yes, a drugstore find!)
3. Optional: add heat protectant spray if you are going to diffuse or use hair dryer
4. Start rolling! (Keep bigger sizes for underneath and back, and smaller sizes the higher you go and very small for around your face.)
5. Air dry or use a hair dryer to speed up the process
The rolling process is so so easy! Do you know those clipless curling irons? That is essentially what these rollers are, you start at the center of your group of hair (really it's however much you want to wrap at a time, maybe an inch for each section), wrap the bottom around the roller, then finish rolling the rest of the hair above the roller up to the crest of your head. Then so they stay in place, they easily bend up into a tight U shape, even farther than a U (see photos). I was so surprised at how fast and easy this step was. I did it all- shower, wrapped, rolled, diffused, and mowed the lawn all while my daughter took a nap.
I decided to take a diffuser to speed up the process- it was the afternoon and I had places to go! I couldn't wait 3-4 hours to air dry. I dried for about 10-15 minutes, took them out, and diffused a little more with my hair down. I feel amazing! My hair feels really beautiful all the way around. NO FRIZZ. Like I said earlier, it's my curls, but even better. I hope to use this product for THE REST OF MY LIFE! Please don't ever stop producing this product!
Other pros:
- they are color coded! Thank you!!
- there are tons of different sizes! Awesome! I may in the future order another pack so I can do my hair all purple (the biggest) to have bigger waves.
- the foam is really soft and pliable- easy to bend and unbend
- comes in a nice enough plastic zip up case
AWESOME PRODUCT. WELL DONE. THANK YOU!!!

AWESOME PRODUCT. WELL DONE. THANK YOU!!!
- the product did have a light ruber/plastic scent but not strong or irritating at all. It's like new car smell that fades away. (Did not leave smell on my hair after I removed the rods)
- I have long hair (waist lenghth) the 7in rods were long enough and they are ALL bendable including the purple and grey ones.
- since there are only certain number of rods per size. I used the purple, grey, orange and blue rods. (I recommend using the smaller rods on back/bottom portion of head for tighter curls-I used the larger ones...not the best curl)
*as you continue use, you will learn tricks on how to get the look you want. Can't wait to keep experimenting... just need more rods.
-when taking off rods, I didn't have tangling or pulling/ripping of hair. I think the ones with that issue must've tangled their hair as they were putting on the rods.
*Sectioning/parting your hair while putting the rods in will help also wrapping it with a scarf or a head cap if you're leaving in overnight will prevent tangling.
I'll try to upload a pic.
I did moisten my hair while putting in rods and used very little gel to help hold the curls. That might change to more gel or mouse depending on the longevity of the curls.
So, this is what I do. Instead of sleeping in them I use them while getting ready in the morning. Right after showering and blow drying my hair I put the rods in. After blow drying, my hair is warm and possibly still has a little moisture left. I put the rods in quickly, and as my hair cools it sets. I leave them in for at least 30 minutes, up to an hour, and go about my morning routine while my hair sets. As soon as I remove the rods I run my fingers through my hair if necessary, give it a light spritz of hair spray, and I'm good to go for the day. When I remove the rods my hair looks extremely curly, but it calms down after half an hour. It will last me most of the day, relaxing as the day goes, but still looks good. With this technique I get a full day of beautiful hair. But after sleeping, the next day my curls are gone. Maybe it's because of my hair type. Or maybe it's because the rods were in a short time. I don't know.
Personally I like loose waves, not ringlets, so I use the two larger sized rods. I wrap my hair around the rod the same way you would wrap it around a hot curling wand. If you don't know what I mean watch a youtube video on curling wands. It's a different way of wrapping the hair and gives a different result. It turns out like a wave instead of a ringlet. After wrapping my hair around the rod, I secure the end of my hair with a small hair tie, then bend the rod to hold it all in place. This insures it will not fall out. If I don't use the hair ties the rods end up sliding right out.
These rods give me curl all the way up to my scalp, unlike my curing iron. I get so much more body when I use these rods. No heat damage is important to me as well. I love using these rods instead of hot curlers...as long as I don't mind looking like a silly fool for an hour, lol!
I have long thin hair that is severely damaged from color processing. Remember, you will experience varying results depending on your hair type, technique used, and size of rods.

Attention cependant à bien nettoyer les rods à la réception, les miens étaient tous très poussiéreux...
