I’ve used this particular clear for many years and found that results are consistently good. Covers well over various mediums without causing bleed over of colors. Does not run on its own. Dependable.
Having used Duncan glazes for years, this clear glaze is not as good as their old 612 clear glaze. It calls for 2 to 3 coats. I used 1 coat, and after drying, I applied a 2nd thinned coat and the result was that it fired still too thick in some areas. But there does not seem to be any other choice.
I have been struggling with clear glazes leaving milky spots on my pieces and am happy to report that this glaze fired wonderfully! A nice clear, glossy finish! Plus when brushed on, it dries to a light green so it's easy to tell what's been coated and If you missed any spots.
