Customers find the electronic cable easy to terminate with EZ tips and crimper. They also say it's tough and terminates well.
"...Very easy to terminate with my EZ tips and crimper. The cable fed very well from the box and is very flexible." Read more
"...Doesn’t have the internal separator but is still very tough and terminates well." Read more
I specifically bought this because it DOES NOT have an internal spline. I know that CAT6 really "should" have a stiff plastic internal spline, but the spline is extremely annoying. It makes termination so much more difficult, it adds lots of bulk to the cable, more weight, and also makes routing difficult due to less flexibility. I bought this stuff for special cases for when I am not going really long distances and need the better flexibility and speed of terminating. No problems at all with kinking, and it seems like quality cable. I just wish it were available in some colors other than just blue :)
I have had no connection or speed problems at all. I would cast this as somewhere between CAT5E and CAT6 from a specs and usage case. If you have lots in a bundle, have to go maximum distances, or operate at maximum speed, you might be better off with splined CAT6. Otherwise, this stuff is great.
I am not a cable quiz guy but this appears to be a very good cable. It has come out of the box with no Kinks and pulls very easily on long runs. I would buy it again if I ever needed to. All my terminal ends connected easily the first time with no problems and metered perfectly.
I was looking for some solid copper cat6 that didn't have a separator or center core - this fit the bill perfectly. Very easy to terminate with my EZ tips and crimper. The cable fed very well from the box and is very flexible.
I have used tens of thousands of feet of this cable with no problems. It passes cat6 certification tests with room to spare. Have also used the plenum and 6e with good certification results.
I was a bit surprised when it arrived as I have never used Cat6 cable that did not have a spline core but I wanted to complete the job for my client and know it isn't actually part of the spec so I decided to give it a whirl.
The cable seems to be pretty well made and my runs yesterday tested out well and, overall, I'm happy with it and would recommend it.
I did see one reviewer talk about it kinking or twisting while being pulled. While I didn't really experience that myself as this was a pretty straight run for me, I would guess that the splineless build likely contributed to that problem.
Seems to be great cable. The jacket is nice and durable and the solid copper conductors are the only way to go. We have just installed the cable, but not terminated or tested yet. Apps good so far. I will update my review... as needed.
