But still 5-stars..... Why???? Because it is the most epic track system EVER!
Installation: It's a nightmare. The first one I fixed took every bit of 8 hours.... Maybe 12 hours. It starts out easy, until you realize how precise the measurements are, and how exact your measurements need to be for it to work correct. YES, the directions are the worst directions on the planet. YES, you will likely have to cut your doors down to fit. YES, the hinges suck until it is finally hung. YES, you will be hanging a door, then re-hanging it (because it won't fit), then cutting a door and re-hanging it (still wont fit), then cutting a door and re-hanging it..... Over and over and over until you get it right. If you have hollow doors like I do, I ended up cutting the core out of the door, and had to rebuild the bottom. That seems like a pain in the neck, but it is easier than the rest of the installation nightmare LOL. My wife had to keep me from a) punching a hole in a wall out of anger b) throwing the doors in the dumpster because I was giving up. I think I cursed more while installing this than I have for the last year. HAVING SAID ALL THAT, once you do finally figure out how to install it, additional doors are much easier to do.
Door #1 - 8 hrs of installation and a loss of my sanity. Had to hang them and re-hang them no less than 5 times to get it right
Door #2 - 2 hrs of relatively easy installation, hung them the 1st time
SOOOO, If I was scoring this based on installation or frustration, I would honestly give it ZERO Starts!!! But aside from the nightmare installation, this product is so great, that it is beyond comparison. it is SO much better than anything else out there. It will last for life (I think), and I'm pretty sure I could hang on the door and it still wouldn't break. I am going to re-do the remaining 5 bi-fold doors I have now, I just can't put up with the crappy plastic hardware that comes off the track every year, now that I know that something this awesome exists. It truly is a game changer.
As for the size of it (60" / 48" / etc), that really is only pertaining to the track that goes up top. Just make sure you get one that is equal to, or greater than the size you need, and you can cut it to size at home (if you have a grinder). Super easy to do, moving forward I'd probably just buy all 60" and just cut it to size depending on the door size. The hardware is the same in each of them other than that.

Retro-Fit issues.
1) The large track extrusion takes up much more space in order to fit the ball bearing roller slides. You will need to cut your door significantly (usually 1.25") to fit this. The problem is that you generally cut away the entire bottom frame (in cheap hollow doors) which to mount anything to. You must re-glue blocks into the bottom of the doors in order to mount the bottom hardware.
2) All "big box store" bi fold doors have large sliding pins + holes at the top and bottom where the door rotates. This kit requires you to put a much smaller screw in that hole to mount both the top and bottom pins (on surface mount plates). I solve this by using metal expandable drywall anchors. Just be careful not to overtighten as they can+will balloon out cheap doors as the anchor expands.
