Pro’s:
- Its a smooth surface. Very little texture to it, but I didn’t want a grippy material.
- My feet don’t hurt anymore, so its doing what it’s supposed to.
- The small studs that you stand on don’t hurt, but they alternate pressure on your foot. You’ll notice this, and you’ll probably want to move your feet off them every 5-10 minutes because they are noticeable. I think they are supposed to keep you alternating your foot position to allow blood flow.
- The raised edges are nice to rub your feet on.
Cons:
- I don’t stand on the raised edges, I think they are better for rubbing your feet than changing your pose like it’s advertised.
- It’s not a large mat, but I only add that here if you are looking for a wide mat.
The raised dots where your feet sit "normally" is a nice touch, although I don't use it very much. The large bump at the back of the mat that's for stretching your feet and/or pulling the mat in and out with your feet isn't very useful from what I can tell. I barely every use it. What I do love though is the two round bumps on the corners of the front of the mat. I often find myself standing with my arches on them or my heels, as I struggle with tendonitis. Honestly, I usually keep the mat "backwards" with the round bumps at the back of the mat.
As for durability, I've only been able to use it for about 4 months, but at that point, I still can't see any signs of wear on it. It's been extremely durable. I don't know if other people slide it around a lot, or if they wear shoes (I usually am barefoot/in socks,) but I've had no issues with durability.
Only thing I would want at this point would be maybe the mound in the middle like the Topo Comfort Mat, as I do find myself standing on one foot or both feet close together frequently.
All said, I absolutely love this mat. Even when I started working from home due to COVID-19, I converted my home desk into a standing desk and brought this mat home. I have so much more energy and am so much more comfortable standing than I am sitting in a poorly designed office chair. This mat was also a lot cheaper than a $300+ office chair and way more comfortable.
After some time using this on a hard wood floor, I've come to require another mat to go underneath it. It just doesn't provide enough cushion. I've docked a star because it happened pretty quickly. I still think it's better than the Topo ergo mat. Also, I've noticed I like the Kangaroo mat better if I turn it around, so the foot wedge is in the back. It's still a pretty nice mat, and if you're putting it on a carpeted area I'd say go for it. For reference, I weigh about 170lbs

I tried the Topo ergo mat, and didn't like the center teardrop, nor the fact that it was just so over sized. This one is a much better size for me (and I'm even 6'1''), and it retains the teardrop foot sole device, it's just that there are two and they're at the back corners which is a better placement for them. If you stand on one leg occasionally, like I do, it's nice to have the middle section be flat. Also, the front wedge on this is useful for toe curling and other stretches.
In terms of quality and thickness/softness, it seems comparable to the Topo mat. In terms of ergonomics, I like it quite a bit more. Both smelled when first taken out of the packaging, so be prepared for that, they may need a day to off-gas. The Kangaroo logo is a nice touch as well. Overall, so far, I'm happy with this product.

Well the first is still a question mark as I have only hadn’t it a couple of weeks now but I’ve used it every day. What does put my mind at ease is that it feels well-made and this: it has a lifetime warranty. I didn’t know this when I purchased it. Bonus points for being able to send it back for a replacement or refund if I need to.
The size... Is perfect. Turns out you don’t need to cover much floor when you’re standing at a computer all day.
The comfort... Is just right. It’s a good thickness that you feel cushion under your feet. I use it with socks primarily. And the corner mounds and front wedge are great for putting pressure on the bottoms of your feet or stretching calves. Overall the terrain offered is pretty equatable to my co-worker’s Topo Mat that cost twice as much.
I work from home and underestimated the mental impact this would have towards me standing more. This mat is definite win in cost/value.
Update: I’ve owned this for 7 months now and I can say it’s going strong. No visible tears or cracks yet. It’s a great mat. Still as much cushion as when I got it. I stand at least 50-60% of the time.
Update: 1 Year in...
Still the same as when I bought it. Would totally purchase another.
