† This cable modem/router does not have telephone jacks for the support of voice calls.

    Connect All Your Devices

The built-in router provides high-speed shared Internet access to smartphones, HDTVs, computers, tablets, game stations, streaming media devices, and other Ethernet and WiFi devices.

Motorola MG7540 delivers better WiFi than single-band routers.

MG7540 focuses wireless signal on wireless devices.

MG7540 easy setup diagram: connect coax cable, power adapter, and WiFi.

Better WiFi with AC1600 Dual Band

Dual band gives you two WiFi networks operating simultaneously in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Single band routers only use the 2.4 GHz band. This band is often full of interference as all your devices share that single band with your neighbors. The 5 GHz band in dual band products is typically much less crowded and has less interference. The bottom line? Dual band delivers much better WiFi.

    Beamforming

AnyBeam WiFi beamforming at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz focuses the wireless signal on your wireless devices to further enhance wireless performance.

    Clean and Easy

Integrating the modem and router saves space, reduces wires and power cubes, and provides a single user interface.

Did what I wanted it to
I was paying for 275 mbps download speed and getting 65mbps with my single band motorola MG7315 8x4. I have a lot of devices and figured too much bandwidth to be shared and that’s what I thought was causing the issue. Just got new motorola 7540 today and installed it and hooked it up in minutes following the easy to understand booklet that came with it. Ran a speed test and same results, argh. Detached my Xfinity cable from wall and reattached and then switched my iPad to 5ghz frequency and ran another Speedtest through OOKLA, 311mbps download and 12mbps upload. If you ever have been in my position and getting nothing near what you pay for, well it was either the dual band router/modem or adjusting the cable Xfinity had supplied to the wall, the jump was incredible. I switched the SSID to the new modem, could have kept old WiFi name but the new one is divided into a 2.4 and 5 suffix so it’s easy to understand. I am so relieved. I would have been happy with anything over 100 but to get more bandwidth than I am paying for occasionally is awesome. 300 is ridiculously quick and I have no need for speeds that fast but it’s nice to have anyway. I would recommend this device if you have more than 10 electronic devices in the house all sucking off the 2.4ghz frequency, the extra frequency seems to have alleviated some congestion, and put my alexa smart devices on the 2.4 and tablets and tv on the 5ghz speed. Haven’t had it for 12 hours yet but am happy with my results. I am just a consumer and not being paid for this review. I use Xfinity ISP and will enjoy this new device, will update later if any problems occur. Last update on Jan 6, I noticed poor security on this device, many viruses or Dos attacks like Teardrops and derivatives, pings of death and illegal packets showed up in my firewall log. Many did, this was after I changed the SSID and password too, I recommend you go to your router settings right away and go under advanced settings click on protection and parental security section scroll down to firewall security and enable Block Fragmented IP packets, enable attack detection and enable port scan detection, since I have enabled these I have not noticed an issue, I am waiting to hear back from motorola on this problem. It’s not something that would keep me away from recommending this device but motorola should do better with firewall security in their devices and you should know as well if you are buying this device.
