Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

Customers are mixed about the heat of the transformer. Some mention that it's thermally efficient, easy to work with, and doesn't overheat. The board is running cool, and the chip does not get hot while charging. However, others say that the circuit gets hot very quickly and then fails shortly after, even with heat sinks.
"...The board is running cool, I don't think a heatsink is needed (I saw a review about needing a heatsink?)...." Read more
"...it and it did charge a power bank but after an hour and noticeable heat on the heatsink and I decided to unplug it, and it still works" Read more
"...The chip does not get hot while charging, letting me know that build quality is excellent. It's very power efficient too...." Read more

the math is, watts divided by volts, equals amps. so yeha, i should have done that first. these work well when you hook one double usb charger up to a 20 watt panel. you could get away with less, but don't get your hopes up to charge very much
i can only guess that the math works out as 20watts / 5volts= 4 amps. but the panel actually produces 14 or 15 volts, at 20 watt. so it might be that a lot of energy is wasted, due to the load out of the crystals in the solar panel. i'm sure somebody smarter than me could answer that quick.
anyway, it works......
The first of these I used seemed to work ok--it would shut itself off in a few seconds with a draw above 2.5 amps, but 2 amps was sustainable without adding cooling. The 2nd one I tried was completely dead: had no light, no output power. The third was outputting over 14 volts on the USB ports with a 20v input, and after putting a dummy load on it, the output ended up matching the input at 20 volts. This could easily destroy a USB device that isn't designed to handle more than 5 volts.
The fourth one seems to work sometimes, but possibly has issues with the connectors as it seems very picky about what cables/devices are plugged in to it.
I would definitely recommend looking elsewhere. If you do end up getting these, I'd strongly recommend using a USB tester to make sure it's outputting 5v before using it, and testing all 4 of them before embedding one in a project, making a return unfeasible.
I'm very happy with my purchase.
