Important information
Directions
Directions: 1. Attach the suction cups (included) to the double suction mounting bracket. Slide bracket over heater to position indicated. 2. Place heater in aquarium by firmly pressing suction ends against wall surface. The three-position viewing window allows you to view the temperature setting from three possible angles, simply turn the heater until it locks into the best viewing position. Note: Choose an algae free location with adequate circulation. This ensures even heat distribution and optimum operation. No part of the heater housing should contact aquarium gravel, rocks or decorations. 3. Wait at least 15 minutes before plugging in your heater. The on off indicator light will confirm that the power is on. Note: Before plugging in heater, create a drip loop: to prevent water from reaching receptacle. 4. Select the desired temperature. Turn the "Click Set" temp select dial until the point of the red light on the thermometer scale reaches the correct setting. Most tropical fish like 78*F - 81*F water. Note: It is recommended to use a tank cover to prevent water temperature variances to heat loss. Both can impair heater performance, create a hazardous environment for the fish.

I had bought this as a spare heater last year. I started using it last month. But within a month the heater has stopped working. The red light that indicates it's on, gets turned on but the heater does not heat up at all. I cleaned it, I turned the dial around. But nothing seemed to help. Can you please me to get it to work?

I got 6 months out of the first one, and it failed without me noticing it. I only realized it had been out when I went to clean the tank and the water felt colder than it should. Fortunately, 70F wasn't too cold to kill the fish. It had been set to ~80F.
That said... my experience is that in this price range, you're not buying something that's going to last forever. I would hope that I'd get more than 6 months, but I'm going to assume that my first one happened to be on the bottom end of the expected failure scale. As I previously mentioned, it's not extremely critical for this particular tank.
Temperature control is via dial. It matches my separate thermometer, so accurate, but it's not very fined grained, so not overly precise. Again, this is acceptable for my application.
Suction is great, haven't had any problems with it moving around or becoming detached.
