The Mityvac MVA670 Power Steering Adapter Kit
Removes Trapped Air from Power Steering Systems; Includes Three Adapters – One Universal as well as a Ford and GM Version
Additional Information
Mityvac is a brand of vacuum-related automotive diagnostic and service repair tools since 1971. Beginning with the design and patent of a single hand-held vacuum pump intended for medical applications, its uses broadened to include automotive diagnostics and service as well as industrial and consumer applications.
When installed, the Mityvac MVA670 adapters form an airtight seal in the neck of a vehicle’s power steering pump. These adapters are designed to connect to Mityvac MV8000 or MV8500 hand vacuum pumps to exert a vacuum on the fluid surface in the reservoir. As trapped air works its way out of the system, the vacuum prevents foam from forming at the surface and air from reentering the system.
Mityvac offers the products and systems you need for any brake and clutch bleeding application, air induction cleaning and compression testing, cooling system evacuation or refill application, for fluid handling and diagnostic applications.

What to Expect
Automotive power steering systems tend to trap air in components and lines, causing erratic steering, pump noise and potential damage to critical parts. Mityvac MVA660, MVA661 and MVA662 power steering adapters can help eliminate trapped air following repairs or fluid changes. The adapters are available individually or can be purchased as a set in the MVA670 kit.

But... in the end, I really should have just scrapped the car from the getgo. It ended up needing a steering rack and lines and engine mounts (one mount collapsed and damaged one of the power steering lines). Honestly, 90% of Tauruses on the road don't deserve a tool as fine as this. I regret my purchase because I wasted many hours of my life so that this car could be (barely) road worthy again for just a week before the next problem occurred and I sent it to the scrapyard.
