Now for the long story. I purchased this with the hopes that it might help resolve an issue with my teenage son's 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid. The car has 140,000 miles on it. My son came home and reported the dash warning lights were all on and he had acceleration hesitation problems. I test drove and saw "CHECK HYBRID SYSTEM" on the multi-information display as well as "CHECK VSC SYSTEM" as well as the engine malfunction indicator lamp (engine symbol with "CHECK" underneath it). I did confirm the acceleration hesitation, which I determined to be caused by the fact that the electric motor was not working at all, just the internal combustion engine (ICE) was on all the time even while stopped and idle. I also read the codes with an OBD2 scanner which reported a P0A80 code (replace hybrid battery pack). So, off to the internet for some research. It appeared that I might be in for a $3000 or more hybrid battery pack replacement until I happened across some information from a local person that refurbishes the hybrid packs for about $600. His information mentioned to have one of the auto parts stores check the Hybrid Aux battery first. That is the 12V battery in the trunk, much like a regular car battery except that this battery is an AGM (absorbent glass mat) battery rather than lead acid. Otherwise it looks the same as a lead acid battery except that they run about $200-$350 dollars, depending on whether you get a Toyota or non-Toyota replacement. Took the battery out, went to A***zone and had them check it and they reported it was "bad" even though it seemed kinda okay just based on the no load voltage of 12.4V. They didn't sell an equivalent non-Toyota AGM battery so I went home empty handed which ultimately worked out in my favor. Now the dilemma. Should I buy a $250 replacement battery that I wasn't real sure was bad and even if it was, was not very confident it would fix the real problem? Or just go to the guy and have him refurbish my hybrid battery pack for $600? Then I thought of a multilevel approach. I decided I would buy this charger and try charging the battery since there were reports online that a questionable or discharged AUX battery can cause strange hybrid failure indications. If this charger provided any kind of indication that the battery was bad then I would purchase a new one and then go on from there to the hybrid pack if needed. So I ordered this on a Sunday morning and received it Sunday night (sometimes Amazon Prime really does pay for itself). I put the battery on the charger Sunday night about 8pm. It started out at the blinking 25% indicator. Let it charge overnight till about 6:30am and the indicators had progressed to solid green 100%. Took the car out for a test. Beautiful. No warning lights or "CHECK HYBRID SYSTEM" indications. Hybrid electric motor worked as it should. Everything back to normal. Car has been driven daily (4 days now) and everything is still normal. Not sure if this is a long term fix, as the AUX battery may still turn out to be bad. But, at least now I can buy a new AUX battery, if needed, with some confidence that it at least can be the cause of the warning indications.
So this little charger was worth every penny in my situation. I have only one use case for this so far, but it has so far saved me quite a bit of money. And now I have a very capable battery trickle charger that has pretty decent battery diagnostic capabilities with its little LED lights in addition to just charging capabilities. Highly recommended.

I like that it has the option of secure connection to the battery terminals (my choice) or temporary connection using the alligator clips.
I also like the plug-in connector between the unit and the battery terminals. This gives the choice of attaching the unit to the car or removing it when driving (my choice).
It's pricier than some other brands, but I trust it to do the job.
