Works as needed
I went on a long hunt to replace my dog water that couldn't be cleaned, even with a brush it would only go half way. This review version is 4 gallon. 3rd picture shows my old one.-The good-1. My reason for getting this was the large opening to easily clean it. It also needs cleaned less often.2. The bottom is large and holds a LOT of water. Close to 1/3 of the container to fill it. So I fill the top 3/4 or 2/3 so it's lighter, and fill the bottom separately.3. It lasts my 85lb dog a solid week or more.-Take Note-1. No, the top doesn't come off. If it did then it wouldn't work as intended and all the water would go pouring out.2. The mason jar is simply for looks. It does cost more than the plain but I like it.3. Make sure and remove the plastic around the filter. If you don't the bottom likely won't fill much....4. I don't need the filter. We have well water and I don't filter MY water. But if it's a selling point to you this is one of the few I saw that had one. The filter is in on mine and still fills the bottom.5. The bottom part stays about half full.
