Prestone Radiator Flush and Cleaner is a 2-in-1 formula designed for light flushing and heavy-duty cleaning for cooling systems to help prevent overheating, the #1 cause of engine failure. This premium formulation is designed to remove heavy rust and scale deposits in neglected cooling systems. These deposits can dramatically restrict coolant flow and reduce heat transfer, which may lead to possible overheating, breakdown, or costly repair. A super-chelating additive effectively removes heavy deposits by drawing metal oxides into the solution. Though strong enough to help restore maximum cooling system efficiency, this non-toxic, non-acidic product is easy-to-use and safe for all cooling system metals.

Customers are dissatisfied with the leaking of the cleaning agent. They say it may have caused their radiator to start leaking, the water pump seal to start leak, and a coolant leak from the heater core. Some customers also mention that the product did something to the shaft seal, so now they have a small leak.

The crud that came out of that truck, wow. Unfortunately I cannot tell you if it was because of this because I can't go back in time and flush it without it, but it was nice to know that it may have helped and it wasn't that expensive. I threw it in a few days before with mostly water and it looks like it could have helped. I would recommend it to a friend.
This is a great radiator flush but don't order from this vendor if you need it right away. It didn't ship for two weeks and I had to cancel 3 appointments to get my cooling systems refreshed.
The cooling system on my ‘05 Silverado was not bad. The anti freeze was not rusty colored but it was eight years old. So I flushed it all total 4 times with distilled water(12 gallons). I absolutely do not put faucet water in any of my vehicles cooling systems. I keep my vehicles for many years so it is vital to keep minerals out of the cooling systems. That folks is from my experience of 60+ years of driving and caring for my means of transportation. I am 77 years young!
A wise man once said to me "get a good vehicle and KEEP it". They don't use salt on the roads in winter where he lived and I'll always remember the truck and wagon he drove were born the same year as me. Back when silly manufacturers allowed you to work on your own things. As much as manufacturer's are trying to keep you from fixing things you own or even owning the things you own, there are plenty of things you can still maintain to keep the cost of ownership to a minimum. And no matter what anyone pressures you into thinking, generally, the "greener" option is to keep your old 'whatever' running for another year, if you can do so safely. My vehicles are old and I'm proud to maintain them myself.
I don't know if this stuff is formulated to look so gross when you flush it out or I was just really overdue. I ran 3 bottles with distilled water in-between and it got better each time, but comes a time to get it dirty. Hopefully I didn't knock the rust holding everything together out of place.
My radiator had relatively clean coolant when I drained it, a couple of particles sure, then I filled with this cleaner and fresh deionised demineralised water, ran for 20 mins and oh my it was brown, so I drained again and repeated the process but left it in for 6 or there about a hours of driving, well super clean result it dislodged everything. I then refilled with water again dropped the bottom hose out and removed the thermostat and replaced with new and connected everything again, filled up with coolant as per spec and drive ensuring all air pockets were gone, took another small sample from the drain and it’s spotless coolant. I didn’t expect to go so far with it but when I saw the progress I had to keep going simply because of the way this works. Very impressed.
