I had high hopes for this axe given the positive reviews but I'm pretty disappointed. The first axe I received had a very good handle, but the bit had a terrible grind unlike any Hudson Bay axe I've ever seen. The lower side of the bit had a big bulge so that the heel portion of the bit actually stuck out further than the toe. I exchanged that axe for another and the second is better, but still lacking. Again, the handle is decent, not as good as the first axe I received, but the bit profile is much better and looks like a typical Hudson Bay pattern axe. Unfortunately, the cheeks are very uneven so the head almost looks curved from the top. Also, looking down from the top you can see the bit angle is off from the handle by at least 10 degrees. This is not due to how it was hung, but rather from an uneven grind from toe to heel. Both samples were pretty dull and will need some finishing, but that was expected and no big deal. If you are able to buy one of these in a store and handpick the best one I'm sure you find a winner, but for the money you're definitely rolling the dice buying online. I'm 0 for 2. If I weren't on a tight budget I'd spend the extra money on an axe with better fit and finish. But, as they say, you get what you pay for.
