C.S. Lewis is widely regarded as one of the most influential Christian thinkers and writers of the 20th century, and his signature classics are a testament to his brilliance and enduring legacy. This Anthology of 8 C.S. Lewis titles includes some of his most beloved and influential books, including "Mere Christianity," "The Screwtape Letters," "Miracles," "The Great Divorce," "The Problem of Pain," "A Grief Observed," "The Abolition of Man," and "The Four Loves."

"Mere Christianity" is a seminal work of Christian apologetics widely read and admired for its clarity and persuasiveness. In the book, Lewis presents a compelling case for the rationality of Christianity and addresses some of the most common objections to the faith. His insights into human nature and morality are profound and thought-provoking, and his writing style is engaging and accessible.

"The Screwtape Letters" is a fascinating and darkly humorous work of fiction that imagines a series of letters written by a senior demon to his junior apprentice. The letters provide a unique perspective on the nature of temptation and sin and offer insights into how humans can be led astray. The book is a masterclass in satire and irony and will leave readers entertained and enlightened.

"Miracles" is a philosophical exploration of the nature of miracles and the supernatural. Lewis argues that miracles are not merely supernatural events but are, in fact, natural events that are seen through a particular lens. His arguments are persuasive and thought-provoking and will challenge readers to think more deeply about the nature of reality and the role of faith in our lives.

"The Great Divorce" is a fascinating allegory that imagines a journey from hell to heaven. The book explores the nature of sin, redemption, and the human condition and offers insights into how we can overcome our limitations and flaws.

"The Problem of Pain" is a profound and moving exploration of the nature of suffering and the problem of evil. Lewis offers insights into finding meaning and purpose amid despair and provides hope for those struggling to make sense of the world.

"A Grief Observed" is a deeply personal exploration of the nature of grief and loss. The book is a moving testament to the power of faith and the resilience of the human spirit in the face of tragedy.

"The Abolition of Man" is a powerful critique of modern education and how it seeks to undermine traditional values and beliefs. Lewis argues that this trend is not only harmful but is also ultimately self-destructive.

"The Four Loves" is a profound exploration of the nature of love and the different forms it can take. Lewis offers insights into how love can be both transformative and destructive and guides cultivating healthy and meaningful relationships.

Overall, this 8-Volume Anthology of C.S. Lewis' signature classics is a treasure trove of wisdom and insight. Whether you're a fan of theology, philosophy, or simply excellent writing, this collection is a must-have for any bookshelf. It will challenge, inspire, and uplift readers of all ages and backgrounds and leave a lasting impression on all who read it.

Multiple books in one
Reviewed in the United States on June 1, 2020
It is a shame that the image shown is of the dust jacket, given how beautiful the actual book is. This special edition features many of Lewis' best publications, with "Mere Christianity" and "The Problem of Pain" being perhaps the most relevant and meaningful of his books from the perspective of life's greatest questions and most critical needs. "Screwtape Letters" is almost certainly the least enjoyable and most frightening, but that is because it so clearly and viscerally demonstrates how weak and susceptible we are as humans while providing insight into the strategies employed by man's tempter to undermine our spiritual development.

If you are looking for a premium edition of these superb books, this is it!

Great quality and content is amazing. His writing is incredible. Not sure why so many people are complaining about the size of the book. It’s the same size as all my other hardcover books. Of course if you put a hardcover next to a small paperback book it’s going to look huge

CS Lewis is as relevant today as he was when these were first written. You do not have to agree with him but he is persuasive and very readable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Any interest in Christian religion? This book is a must!

C.S. Lewis has a fantastic way of examining Christian religion and explaining the merits. This book has a collection of his works and, after reading it will become clear why so many contemporary theologians refer to his work.
"Mere Christianity" is an eye opener; "The Screwtape Letters" is frightening, and Miracles is an exercise in philosophy.
He fits right in there with Scott Hahn, Peter Kreeft, Jean Corbon, Matthew Kelly, Bishop Robert Barron and perhaps even with Jordan Peterson.

I like the form-factor and lay in the hand of this book. Of course the contents is good as to be expected from Lewis. After reading the Narnia chronicles this will be a different experience. Philosophical, a good moral, a no-nonsense belief.

4.0 out of 5 stars A beautiful edition of some great works written by a great man, but...

... the one issue I take with this product is the binding: for the price, I would have expected it to be sewn binding instead of glued. However, I don't mean to imply that this product is poor quality. It feels good in the hand, doesn't feel cheap, and is easy to read. It's just one small nitpick that does let me down a little bit, hence the four stars. That said, I am very happy with the purchase overall, and would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys reading CS Lewis, or anyone who is curious about Christianity in general.
