Product Description
Product Description
No matter how much you try, it’s impossible to get freshly brewed flavor from coffee that’s been sitting on a hot plate too long. That’s why we created the Hamilton Beach BrewStation, the only coffeemaker that keeps coffee tasting fresh for up to four hours. This best-selling coffee maker works just like a traditional, automatic drip brewer, but with a notable difference: it brews into an internal tank instead of a carafe. This innovation in brewing technology is what will make your last cup taste just as fresh as the first. An internal heater keeps coffee at the perfect temperature for up to four hours, so you can refuel with a fresh, hot cup throughout your morning. And with no glass carafe, you have nothing fragile to break and replace. Instead, you can easily pour a cup with the one-handed simplicity of a dispensing bar. The BrewStation lets you customize your cup with brewing options like bold, regular, small batches and even iced coffee. The internal tank and brew basket both remove for easy fill-up and cleaning.

We are on our second version of this product. We had a red one at first got it a few years ago. We now have a black one. Here's where the honesty comes in.
The quality of a black one is less than the red one for sure. If the red one was a 9 out of 10 Star product when it comes to quality then the black one is probably a seven and a half. The pieces don't have quite the super snug fit that the red one had and the plastic just seems a little bit less refined if that makes sense.
The ability to keep your coffee warm the variations of Brew types the Simplicity of use the pour feature are all fantastic. I've seen several on here stating that it leaks. Sure when you overfill it it leaks. If you pour in the water too fast it's going to leak or dribble. After extended use if you don't keep it clean yes it will drip.
The only reason we bought a new one is because the last one started to drip. The compartment that holds the coffee which is the top part that you see in my picture that has the clock and the silver area on it started to drip. So you take that off you undo these two screws you remove the little flap that I see people posting on here that broke you give it a good cleaning your rinse out the area on the inside where the flap sits and you put it back together with the two screws and you're good to go.
Most people don't take time to maintain their coffee pot when it starts to act up they just buy a new one because they're cheap. On the other hand I am cheap so I try and maintain it clean it take care of it and it lasts. I think we had our other one for 3 years and it started to leak and as I was cleaning it I over tightened the screw and I broke the section that it screws into and that's the only reason I got a new one and can write this review about the quality of the new version.
Yes it's probably made in China or Taiwan or something like that but so is everything else. It is a quality product. And it reduces the potential danger of your older mother or your wife spilling hot coffee everywhere. Maybe your dad is not as graceful with the coffee pour. Maybe your kids drink coffee? They just walk up to it put their cup underneath it and push the button and it pours into their cup.
Would I recommend this product? 1,000%. Is a little bit of a different process absolutely and that's okay. I think it's cool that the company at Hamilton Beach took the time to create a coffee pot that was completely different than all the other coffee pots you've ever seen. If you're worried about the durability then go get a 1960s percolator that makes 32 cups of coffee and just use that we have one of those that we use for parties and it's been around and works just fine for about 50 years now. But if you're just looking for something that is a little bit different convenient and provides the ability to adjust the Brew type of your coffee from regular to bowl to extra bold then go for this give it a shot. I like companies that think outside the box and Hamilton Beach has done a great job of that with this product. Like I said I bought two of them and if I had friends that I wanted to spend 50 bucks on for Christmas I probably buy one of these for them too.
So don't let the negative reviews deter you because sometimes people get lemons it's the same debate between Ford versus Chevy this is Hamilton Beach versus Mr Coffee sometimes people have great results with one and not the other but for the most part it's a coffee pot man it should work just fine.
I will end this by saying that I am a fan a very big fan. And would totally 100% recommend this product if someone asked me about it. Oh look they asked me about it, and here I am recommending it.

I purchased this "older" model (48464) as a factory re-certified coffee maker for $29, about $10 cheaper than a new item from Amazon Prime. The note included with the machine stated it was re-certified in the USA by local folks at the facility in North Carolina. I ordered it on a Sunday and it arrived the following Tuesday. Pretty darn good for a non-Prime order! It came in the original (but new) box showing correctly what's inside. A label on the outside indicated it was rebuilt in August 2016. The coffee maker showed zero signs of previous use and i would not have been able to tell it from a new product.
The is our second Brew Master. The one it replaced is 5+ years old and tired. It pretty much got used every day for 2-4 brewings but the dispense rate got slow and no amount of cleaning would resolve this. Brewed coffee is rather oily and overtime can build up around the small parts of the dispensing mechanism. This can lead to a slow dispensing rate as well as a tendency to drip a bit after you remove your cup. Hamilton Beach recommends the usual vinegar and water mix to remove scale buildup that might occur in the pump and dispensing lines and they also recommend an overnite soak of hot water and 2 tablespoons of automatic dishwasher detergent. Whichever method you use, be sure to run at least 2 full brewing cycles using plain water. Also, if you have the time, run a plain water cycle through the machine after a week's use as a preventative measure.
This model is obviously an improvement over our previous model. The LCD screen is much easier to see, it has brew https://www.amazon.com/Hamilton-Beach-48464-Capacity-Brewstation/dp/B001K66LPQ/ref=sr_1_13?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1544104775&sr=1-13&keywords=hamilton+beach+coffee+makersettings that actually work---if you like a stronger brew you can select "BOLD" and it slows down the rate at which hot water is poured into the brewing basket. It has a timer to shut off the heating element. There is also a 1-4 cup setting that slows down the rate but not quite as much as the BOLD setting. If you're an iced coffee lover (we are), you can actually make a pot of ice cold coffee. Basically, you double the amount of coffee, select the ICED brew, and fill the empty dispensing tank with ice cubes. Then just brew up a pot of iced coffee! Easy Peasy.
The brewing basket has many brewing holes unlike our old model which has just one hole for the coffee to drip through. This model also has an automatic shut off gizmo which stops the flow of hot water if you lift the lid during the brewing cycle, like you might do to add some more coffee. The old model did not have this feature. This machine is the 12 cup version while our old machine was a 10 cup model. We found that if you brewed 10 cups in the old one, it made a mess with splashed coffee grounds. Brewing 10 cups in this one did not make a mess. We have not tried to brew 12 cups.
Perhaps it is because this is the taller 12 cup model, but you can dispense coffee into one of those tall travel cups. Our old 10 cupper did not have the clearance to do this.
Lastly, all Hamilton Beach Brew Master machines do in fact keep the coffee hot for a longer period of time without imparting that burnt taste.
This is a great machine with a proven track record for reliability. It's inexpensive and highly recommended for all coffee lovers.
The only nit to pick is this is not truly a one hand dispensing operation. Once you get the available coffee down to 4 cups or so, you'll need to use your other hand to stop the machine from sliding when you push your cup against the dispensing button. The sleeker your counter top is, the greater the tendency to slide, A non-issue.
[UPDATE 12-18]
After almost 3 years of daily use, the heating element died. This means there is no heat to keep the brewed coffee warm resulting in trips to the microwave (several reviewers have complained that it doesn't keep the coffee hot even when the heating element is working.) Personally, I don't care for microwave re-heated coffee so this Brew Station is kaput. I also noted shortly after receiving it back in 2016 that the tank which holds the brewed coffee was a little wobbly when in place. Also, it developed a drip after using the push bar to dispense a cup of coffee----fortunately, the drips drop into an easily removed base which is simply rinsed out.
So, all things considered would I buy this again? Yes I would and I did. This time, however, I ponied up a couple bucks for the 3 yr replacement plan.
There are two factors, however, which prevent it from earning 5 stars from me. First, it is somewhat awkward pouring water from the reservoir into the brew tank. The shape of the reservoir is such that if you're not careful how you you pour, the water can spill out all over the place. The second factor is that the lid on the top of the unit, when raised after brewing, tends to shed all its condensed water drops to the back of the maker where they overflow the edge and spill out over the back side due to the rounded shape of the maker and lid. I have gotten into the habit of raising it slightly and inserting a folded paper towel to absorb most of the condensation before raising the lid all the way.
Top reviews from other countries
The machine is easy to use but it seems a lot of people over look the obvious as they separate the parts and put the water in the wrong place even though there is 12 cup fill guide on the left hand side of the lowest section.
My machine had both of the common problems, the leaking at the pour lever and the heater boiling the water.
There is videos on Youtube for both problems. It took 5 mins to adjust the pour lever problem and 2 mins to put two pieces of aluminum foil over the heater to prevent it from boiling the coffee.
The one HUGE improvement for this would be an LED light near the pour lever so when filling your mug you can see how full it is getting without having all the lights on in the kitchen LOL
