Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I wasn't happy with the cheap stamped steel alternator bracket I was using before, and really wanted a turnbuckle adjustment. The only problem is the motor is a later 5.0, aftermarket harmonic balancer, and using an early 302 type high flow water pump with driver side lower hose. There is no direct bolt-in alternator bracket for this setup, but this one was pretty dang close! All I had to do was change the spacers slightly and get a couple longer bolts. That is nothing CVF racing did so I'm giving a full 5 stars, I'd give more if possible!

Looks good, quality of construction and finish OK, Only problem is that it doesn't fit. There is a misalignment between the bolt holes on the bracket and the bolt holes on the engine. I can get 2 of the 3 bolts to fit right, but then the third bolt will not go in at a 90 degree angle. If all bolts are loose, then I can get them started, but if I tighten down, then they will jam because the bolt holes do not line up correctly. Second thing is the tension adjustment bar hits the side of the alternator and will not align with the mounting adapter. Also the tension bar will not align between the alternator mount and the water pump mounting point. The supplied bolts do not fit right, so the tension bar can't be lined up straight between the two mounting points. This bracket is a good idea, but it's just poorly designed. Looks like they just put together a bunch of parts they had on the shelf and left it to the end user to make it work. It's not well designed to fit the application. It might fit something, but not my 1984 Ford 302. By the way, I did buy the correct bracket, the one for a 1977+ 302 with driver side radiator hose.
