Product Description
The CA-3602 subwoofer speaker system is our best selling 2.1 speaker set. It a powerful audio solution delivering great sound for the home and office. Ideal for music, movies and games. Kick back and enjoy quality sound you never knew you were missing. The dual 2 in. high-efficiency drivers per satellite, deliver crisp highs, while the 5.25 in. subwoofer provides booming bass with a punch. This speaker system comes with a convenient desktop control pod — designed to give you full control at your fingertips. The control pod has power on/off, master volume control, bass volume control, auxiliary input, and a headphone output jack. With easy set up and full 1 year warranty coverage by Cyber Acoustics, this speaker system is the best answer to an affordable audio solution you have been looking for. Troubleshoot-speaker does not produce sound mostly due to incorrect connections, audio output jack from your computer will be green, make sure media device or cd or dvd device is playing and the software volume settings are turned up and not muted. If still problems prevail, disconnect the speaker source cable from computer and connect to a smartphone, ipod, or anything else with a 0.14 inch headphone output. If speakers work on other source then the issue lies with computer or connections. Sound is distorted, turn the volume down by 25 percent or 50 percent. If this does not work, also check the audio software volume level and decrease it if necessary. Adjust the computers master volume control by balancing the volume until its at 50 percent, then adjust the volume levels on speakers. Adjust bass volume control to test for maximum and minimum output. You may also need to move the subwoofer either closer or farther away from a wall or corner to affect the sound performance

The Good
Sound quality is very loud for such small speakers. I have this speaker attached to a HDMI-to-Audio adapter, that's connected to a Roku 3 as it main audio source. I understand that this is an abnormal setup, but it works for our current situation. I wanted clear crisp 2.1 sound while watching a movie in our home theater projector room, and that's exactly what I got. I have to agree with a few of other reviews, in that this speaker system can be very loud is you want it to be. We normally watch movies with the volume set to about 45-50% due to how loud these speakers can get. Best of all, this package offered a 2.1 home theater solution with a respectfully small foot print.
These next two categories are more nit picking than anything else, but I usually follow this spaghetti western format for most of my reviews.
The Bad
The sound from the bass is weird. Not entirely sure if this is the actual base unit itself, or the fact that the base is located on a wall shelf behind the sofa, or the fact the speakers are located in front of the sitter and the base is located behind. Too many variables to directly pinpoint why the bass sounds a bit off, but we've learned to adjust. Not to mention, the bass can be quite intensive depending on the movie, and as a result I usually keep it just loud enough to enjoy the sound effects in the movie(s), but not loud enough to feel the effects on my bones.
The base on the speakers cannot fixed onto the unit and there's no easy way to wall mount the speakers, but it's not impossible to improvise. There's a screw hidden in the bottom of the speaker, and I think a little bit of glue attaching the base to the speaker; both of these can easily be removed. Also, if you want to mount these on the wall, it's relatively easy to install insert some simple picture hanging hooks into the back of these speakers. I would be careful with the size of the hooks you use, but there's plenty of room in the back cavity of the speaker to accommodate an eye/hinge picture frame hook. OOK 59242 32 Piece Assorted Frame Back Kit
The Ugly
This is definitely more of a nit pick than anything else, but I which the controls for this speaker system would have used a IR remote versus a physical dial. I completely understand hat these are being sold as PC/Gaming speakers, and that most gamers would probably prefer a dial just in front of their keyboards to control the sound; an IR remote would just get in the way. Still, it would have been nice.
Conclusion
When I purchased this speaker set, I was expecting some complications from somewhere due to my unique setup, but luckily I didn't. The speaker have performed well beyond my expectations, especially considering what I paid for them. I would not have any issues recommending these speakers to anyone looking for an affordable home audio solution.
Other pros:
-- Look nice. Black and silver feel classy to me, and are obviously a step up from the "computer beige" that all my previous computer speakers were.
-- Satellite speakers feel weighty in the hand for how small they are, meaning they don't move around when the bass is shaking, and they don't feel cheap. Little rubber feet on the bottom help, too. Some other comments worry about dust because the speakers are exposed, but the whole unit (including speaker membrane) has a glossy finish to it. Just be gentle (i.e. feather duster) and I think these will be relatively easy to keep looking nice.
-- The control pod is handy, despite a few cons I'll mention later.
-- Great value. I can't believe these cost under 50 bucks. They sound so good that I am buying another system to replace a portable iPod player we use upstairs (that cost WAY more than $50 when new, like $199). We'll just wire in the iPod and these speakers will fill the whole ground floor.
CONS:
-- The auxiliary jack takes over when just a 3.5mm jack is plugged into it. Now, I know that most electronics are that way. But I have had some electronics components where AUX could have a cord in at the same time as the main was receiving signal, and both signals would come through. Why is this important? Well, the main cord on the control pod comes out the back, and the AUX jack is in front. If I want to have two sources always plugged in, the only way to do that would be to have a splitter off the front AUX jack, meaning a slightly bulkier setup on front. If I could just plug in an AUX source and have the main hooked to another source, I could switch between iPod and radio as simply as turning one source off and firing up the other (plus no need for a splitter). For the price of a female-female coupler, though, I can just do a splitter off the main input and have what I need. Such a coupler costs something like $1.63 as an add-on item from Amazon...
-- The volume on the control pod doesn't have much "throw", as in, just a hair over 90 degrees out of the circle's 360 degrees. That's not a big deal, especially since most sources will also have their own volume control (so you could consider the volume on the control pod as sort of a line adjustment that you usually don't need to touch). But for something like an iPod using the line out from a iPod stand, the control pod WILL be the main volume control. It would be nice to have a little more turn to it. It IS well centered such that "halfway up" in terms in volume lines up the little volume dimple with the cords coming out the back of the pod.
-- It would be nice if the bass level had a tactile indication of being at the halfway point. I realize bass adjustment is personal and depends on the environment, but it would still be nice to know, for example, that the default spot that works well for my setup is "just a little above middle" or "halfway between minus and middle." (Yeah, I'm reaching for some cons, but these little things could make a fantastic unit even better!)
-- Modularity. The cords coming out of the control pod are wired in. I know that makes the package more svelte (and probably easier to manufacture reliably), but this thing is mostly wired together (except the subwoofer, it is standalone and has two cords that plug into it). The satellites can be pulled WAY apart (you just pull apart the wire to spread them out further), but it would be nice to have that be completely under end-user control via their own cables. Granted, CA controlling the cable lengths in this way makes for a very nice sounding "default" system, but user choice is important, too. Also, you aren't going to find many other systems like this that don't do it the same way. If I really need that, I just need to get an amp and speakers...
While my "cons" look large, you can see they are essentially nitpicks, especially considering the value in these (especially as compared to other computer speakers). They blow away any other computer speakers (or even boom boxes) I have had in terms of sound, and they look nice, too. It is hard to believe a lot of other name-brand units (like portable iPod players) still run over $100 when you could by two of these systems for that price (Hm, double the bass and four satellites for the price of a splitter -- yowza!) If you don't need portability or to have your satellites way spread apart, I highly recommend these not just for PC/Mac use but for setting up room-filling music from any source with a 3.5mm jack. You won't be sorry.
It was extremely easy to setup without any need for instructions. I can list a few things that I liked about this speaker:
1) It has a great sound, it gets very loud and is very clear.
2) I love the little control panel that goes to your desk. I had a speaker before that you had to adjust it on the sub and it was annoying.
3) It's appealing. The speaker has a nice looking design and is not boring like other speaker sets can be. The blue light on the control panel is a nice touch.
There were, however, a few things I feel it fell short on:
1) Even though the sound is great, the subwoofer does not really pack a punch and if you try and turn the bass up it starts to sound worse. I can't really expect much for the price of the device, but with how big the subwoofer was I had higher expectations.
2) I might be blind, but the speakers are not clearly labeled Left/Right. So I had to use the software on my computer to determine that.
3) There is no mute button on the control panel (not that I found). I was kind of hoping the middle of the control panel was a way to mute it, but it's nothing.
Even with these downsides I still only docked 1 star because I found it be a great value and great product. Some songs sound better with bass than others. I listed to a lot of electronic music, so that does push it.
If you're looking for a cheap set of speakers, definitely give these ones a try.

Both the CAs and Logitechs produce likely the best sound output and quality in the price range. They basically have two differences. Firstly the CAs include a wired remote pod that allows you to adjust the volume and bass (gain) without reaching for the speakers or sub like the Z323s.
In terms of sound the CA-3602s provide a warmer tone with better output on the high frequencies. I decided to use them with my laptop where proximity to the speakers reduces the need for high bass output and I can enjoy a warmer more balance music output and, in my opinion, slightly better sound quality overall. The Z323s provide more low frequency output and resulting bass and I might argue slightly higher overall volume. I used them as speakers on an HTPC in a medium sized living room where streaming TV/movies, the low tones providing better sound for sfx, though don't expect true theatre sound at this price. I reserve my full surround sound setup for the basement.
Short answer. These are great as are the Z323s. Get the CA-3602 for better high sound production and the Z323s for better bass but neither will disappoint.
However, they worked and seem worth the little money I spent on them.
The sound quality is ok. A little on the tinny side. The woofer is barely audible even at it's highest setting.
My decades old Logitech 2.1 speakers are still the best PC speakers I've ever owned.
I bought these to use with my work computer since I work remotely now. So they are fine for now.
