Tuned for 14 grain pellets
4 Stars
Tuned for 14 grain pellets
Pic shows best 10 shot group at 30 yards, off-hand outside with several mph wind, using Daisy Hollow Point pellets (ordered directly from Daisy for 9 dollars a tin)Out of the box this seems tuned for 14 grain pellets. With 14.3 grain Crosman pellets and a 2,800 psi charge, the first two shots achieved 854 and 856 FPS, basically 23 FPE... plenty of power to humanely kull small game.Didn't have time to attach a scope and shoot a groups to test accuracy and total shot count, just a few shots over the Chronograph to test velocity and sound levels... it is extremely quiet for the record. So far the Marauder is decent for the price paid... but could be better.I might get a CARM magazine, a custom wooden stock from Boyd, a regulator from Huma, and some tuning bits from Tom Hill to complement the regulator... that will completely transform this airgun to a daily hunter.* Edit - Just got done with fine tuning some settings and ended up with 30 shots around 900 FPS using the same amount of air per shot as the factory tune... about 50 extra FPS without sacrificing accuracy or shot count :)Adjustments - turn adjustment screw until it hits the stop... the stop will be the opposite direction of adjustments below... (example Hammer Stroke Screw turn counter-clockwise until it won't turn anymore, then turn clockwise to make adjustments)Hammer Stroke adjustment about 4.25 turns clockwise... 1/8 inch allen wrench... 4 turns clockwise was stock setting.Hammer Spring adjustment about 1.5 turns clockwise... 1/4 inch allen wrench... 1.25 turns clockwise was stock setting.Valve Metering Screw adjustment opened around 2.75 to 3 turns counter-clockwise (4 to 4.5 turns is the maximum)... 3/16 inch allen wrench to remove the stock and a 5/64 inch allen wrench for the adjustment screw and jam set screw... 2.5 turns counter-clockwise was stock setting.Have several 75 and 110 yard shots on pests, a few of them being small Chipmunks and ground squirrels... a workhorse, for a hunting/pesting airgun it's almost better than the Leshiy 2 it sits next to... the semi-auto function of air rifles can be finicky.
