Product Description

Elite Cat6e plenum is 23AWG, unshielded and solid bare copper for optimal signal performance. It is constructed with a spline for improvement on near end crosstalk which reduces the interference between the 4 twisted pairs. This gives you a better signal and a stronger cable ! Plenum rated cable is built for air flow areas such as air ducts and between the floors. For fire safety this Plenum jacket is created with high quality low smoke flame retardant making it a great choice when fire code requires higher standards. The low smoke jacket emits less fumes when burnt and it prevents the spread of fire along the cable. Cat6e plenum cable is great in that it can replace your riser rated and general use cable (cm rated). Our Cat6e plenum cable is available in 250 and 1000ft lengths. Pull our 1000ft lengths from Reelex II boxes for nice smooth pulls. Perfect for powering PoE, video, audio and ethernet this networking cable can power your favorite devices up to 1Gb applications and 10Gb at shorter lengths! Put your trust in our multi certified cable today and your network will be thankful!

Excellent quality plenum cable

Excellent quality plenum cable
I used this plenum cable to rewire our company office. I would say this cable quality is better than I expected for this price point. It is pure copper and has all of the certifications qualifying it as true plenum. Not many brands can say the same. The UL listing proves that the cable has undergone the proper burn test, which is the main point of even purchasing plenum cable (fire safety and staying up to code). The cable is properly separated by a center spline between each pair, offering protection against Near End Crosstalk (NEXT). Keep in mind this specific cable is priced higher than CMR (in-wall rated) cable, as it serves a different purpose. For my project I used both. I’ll get into details about the installation of this specific cable and some tips with cable installation:- Plenum cable. What is it? Plenum cable has the highest fire retardant rating. If the cable was to catch on fire it would burn at the slowest rate and release the least amount of smoke / toxins making it a “safe” cable to install in plenum areas (areas with air flow), such as drop ceiling, raised floors, HVAC where there’s return air. CMP cable is commonly required for commercial buildings and follows National Electric Code (NEC) standards. This fire rating is possible due to the materials used to produce plenum cable jacket/ insulation.- Why do I need Plenum cable and not Riser? First of all, the only difference between plenum (CMP) rated cable and riser (CMR) rated cable is the fire retardant rating. In layman terms the cable’s burn rate and smoke/ toxins released if the cable was to catch on fire. This is strictly for fire safety. The jacket / insulation material will also help the plenum cable perform better at higher temperatures.- How do I know if I am getting real plenum cable? There are lots of so-called CMP cables out there, that in actuality does not meet the requirements. If you want to make sure you’re getting real plenum cable you can check if it is tested and certified by Underwriter Laboratories UL. Simply visit their website and look up the brand in their database.- What performance do I expect out of CAT6 cable? The standard for CAT6 cable is 250MHz, anything listed above that is for marketing purposes. Yes, CAT6 cable can most definitely exceed 250MHz and many do.A few reasons why I would recommend this cable and will continue to use this cable:- It meets all of my requirements. I’ve verified that it is UL Listed, the performance is in-line with CAT6 standards, and the cable is pure bare copper.- Easy to pull. The box also has a large opening funnel, which I believe is one of the main reasons why it pulls easier than most packaging I’ve seen. The box it came in is very durable and has a good handle. The spline separator gives the cable a sturdy feel also.- I’ve fluke tested all of our runs and it’s passed. That’s all there is to it. This is quality cable.I hope this review helps everyone. I will keep this updated should there be any performance changes as time goes by.
