Update 12/26/18. Got an email from CS at Century offering to send a return label so they could look at the defective product and send me a new one straight from them. Got it promptly and nothing on the screen so I plugged it in for the battery to charge up (supposedly an hour will do) and 60 hours, nothing. Dead as a door nail. So obviously they have a battery issue as well as other problems. Unless you enjoy spending hours waiting for batteries to charge, setting up and hoping it'll work and more time printing return labels and boxing up and returning things, I'd suggest an other product. I bought a myTouchSmart Plug-In Indoor Digital Timer and it's only one outlet but it's really easy to setup and it actually works! (so far).
1/3/19 C said they tested #2 and it was a programming issue ( we'll see). Sent back #3 to them. Can't wait to see about what they say about a dead battery. Received #4 which they had pre-programmed. It was set to come on at 4:30am and 8pm. It read "auto" on screen. Plugged the light into the 1st outlet (for 4:30am) at 6pm and the light comes on. No fooling. So I unplugged it, unlocked it and cycled through all on, all off, auto. Plugged it back in, still on. Repeated previous and hit program to see if it was actually programmed. It was. Plugged it in and no light. (Finally!) Next morning it came on at 4:30am and has worked fine the last 2 days. CS is great email promptly and helpful. To bad they have a badly engineered product and battery issues. I'll call next week and see if I can figure out what the programming issue is (bad directions?) but obviously it's not intuitive and needs way to much effort to do a simple function. They gave me refund. I still don't recommend this for obvious reasons but if you have a month to wait and don't mind calling CS to walk you through setup, go for it.
Update: 4/2019 Still getting spammed with emails from the company. I've reported the emails to Amazon twice in the last 2 months and still keep getting them.
This is my second one; expect to get more. Very precise timing, way better than the old clunky mechanical timers with only 30 minute choices. A bit more expensive, but worth it.
Two programming points that could be better in the instructions:
1. There are 8 on/off program slots shared between both timers. You can program each one to affect only Timer 1, only Timer 2, or both Timer 1&2. There are not 8 program slots for each timer. So if you want each timer to do something different, program slot 1 for Timer 1, and slot 2 for Timer 2, and so on. Plenty of reviewers on here are confused by this and think they can't program both timers independently.
2. After you set your timers and plug in your devices, press Mode until they are "all on" or "all off" based on whether you want your devices on or off at that exact time, then press Mode again to set to "auto." For example, if you plug in a light that you want on right now and you've programmed it to be on right now, press Mode to "all on" and then press Mode again to "auto." If you just plug it in on "auto" and don't cycle Mode to whatever on/off state you want, the timer won't affect the plugged-in device until the next time the clock hits a programmed time.
UPDATE Nov 2018: After eight months, I noticed that if I bumped or moved the timer, it would kick off/on quickly. It never stopped working, but I contacted the seller. They said it has a 15-month warranty and shipped a replacement immediately. Honestly, I would still buy this timer even if I had to replace it from time to time. The price is very affordable, and the functionality really beats all the other available digital timers.

The online video, which can be found in the Amazon product page, at the company's website or on Youtube, is somewhat of a help to get you started providing you're prepared to hit pause after each step. But even the video got confusing mid-way through, as the narrator speaks quickly and an important step wasn't clearly articulated. That's when I returned to the printed instructions and, voila, my confusion was alleviated.
We'll be utilizing it for operating Christmas lights in our front window, which sits behind a couch. Unfortunately the lights have no switch and must be plugged/unplugged, and needless to say, pulling out the couch twice a day is somewhat annoying. While this unit is probably overkill for that task, we'll also be able to utilize it when we're away and we want the home to have a lived-in look.
It appears to be well made and well designed and it's great that it has two three-pronged inputs on its base rather than at its sides; and each input can be independently programmed for precise on/off settings for any day or days of the week. Plus, eight different program digital on/off options can be entered. There's also a daylight savings time mode and a random mode. All this for a very reasonable price. Just be patient and prepare to spend about an hour to get it up and running when you first use it.
