Exceptional cooker for brewing, frying, boiling, and pickling a whole mess of cucumbers.
5 Stars
Exceptional cooker for brewing, frying, boiling, and pickling a whole mess of cucumbers.
This is a great burner. I originally bought it for brewing beer since the traditional style Turkey fryer with the little torch thing in the middle would take forever to boil 12 gallons of wort and probably end up scorching it in the process. This is a different story. Boils in no time and since the heat is spread out it is difficult, if not impossible, to scorch your wort. Since I’ve gotten it I’ve also used it to fry a few turkeys and a lot of fish, steam oysters, and for canning pickles and it excels at all. It’s saved me hours for the pickles alone since I make ALOT of pickles, usually start about two 30 gallon batches per week during the cucumber growing season and the type of pickles I make are 14 day icicle pickles which require you to drain the syrup into a pot, boil it, then pour it back over the pickles once per day for a whole week. Needless to say when you are boiling two or three pots containing 15-20 gallons of liquid each per day for a couple months, the difference between bringing it to a boil in 15 minutes vs 1+ hours ends up saving you a whole mess of time. And this cooker is rock solid even when you’ve got a pot with of 20 gallons of sugar/vinegar syrup (around 180lbs) in it since the legs and grate are made out of 5/32” thick steel bar that’s 1-3/8” wide. Best part of all is this cooker was 1/2 to 1/3rd the price of the name brand banjo style burners when I bought it. It’s still pricy, but it’s worth every single penny if you use it regularly and it’s so, so much better in every way than the traditional turkey fryer burners they sell at the Lowe’s and Home Depots. I am really glad I decided to pull the trigger on this purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super burner that we use for Woks, Stockpots, and Cast Iron cooking!
Reviewed in the United States on May 3, 2019
This burner is well-made and strong. The legs attach easily and securely. Hooking up the propane hose to a tank is a breeze, and the oxygen adjuster is also easy to adjust.

The flame put out by this burner is INTENSE!! 200k BTU's is blasting fire! The burner frame can handle a lot of weight and works just fine for both flat bottoms and Wok round bottoms but I purchased a Whirlpool cast iron wok ring that fits the burner perfectly and makes wok cooking a breeze. (See pictures) We bought it primarily for Wok use as well as large stockpot cooking for shrimp and crab boils. It also is magic for high-heat cast iron cooking!

Can't find a single thing wrong with the burner, but do wish it stood a little higher. Easy to light and all the emitters work without any issues...even in wind. I may build a secure stand to elevate it to waist height. It's critical to first run without cooking for about 15-20 minutes in order to burn off the paint that will not handle the heat. After that, it's just perfect! Five Stars and an honest and hearty recommendation! A+
