I wanted to Update with a new one looked over quite a few saws, I liked the Delta S26-263L Shopmaster 10 In. Slide Miter Saw my Sidekick always did a great job so I went with Delta again I'm glad I did. The Shopmaster is so well design It is much easer to setup and use. I would highly recommend the Delta S26-263L Shopmaster 10 In. Slide Miter Saw to any woodworker. Thanks Jim

This is a perfectly cromulent mitre saw and the best value from a trusted brand name I could find. No regrets. The negative reviewer with photos showing the 'plywood' (that's obviously a stack of 1x2s) that suddenly jumped into the guard and damaged it is an [expletive deleted]. This practice is clearly counter-indicated by the manual and inherently quite dangerous.
Most anyone who has used a sliding mitre saw figures out, one way or another, that kickback will occur if you pull the trigger with the blade on the wood.

It's gonna sound like I'm not saying that our good friend mentioned above did this exact thing with no experience using this type of power saw and can't take personal responsiblity for damaging a perfectly fine tool so displays it then blames the manufacturer.......................

Oh, and a number of negative reviews by Captain Obvious wanna-bes who pointed out that this model doesn't perform like 'their' $1200 one are like minded with our friend above. Sometimes I wonder why people leave negative reviews on their base model Mazda 2 because it's not a BMW M3...

It is your prerogative to not buy this high-value mitre saw based upon the hypotherical negative reviews referenced above. It has embiggened my toolbox, it can embiggen yours as well.

This saw is great for a weekend warrior that needs more throat than a traditional 10" power compound miter box. This is not as nice as my friend's Delta CRUZER saw, but also not $600.

The laser guide is useless, just like everyone else's laser guide
The dust collection is not great, even when connected to a dust collection system
This saw will cut 2" thick pine with ease
The throat is wonderfully deep
It cuts very accurately

I would definitely recommend this as a mid-level power compound miter box. If you have the bank-roll, go for the Delta CRUZER 26-2240, and you won't regret it.

I was very surprised by the weight, as it actually feels lighter than our old Delta 10-inch, non-sliding miter saw. This thing is very easy to move around. One has to be aware of the torque that the motor produces, this thing KICKS if you are not paying attention. The blade is nice and sharp, and cuts are quick and clean.

I bought this to tackle a few DIY projects and just to have. You never know when you need a good saw. I’ll say that it’s your basic miter saw, lightweight and it cuts accurately from the box. I haven’t put the battery in the laser but that design seems silly to me. All they needed to do was wire the laser to the saw trigger for power... that’s my only gripe. For the money, I got exactly what I wanted/needed.

I think it is sturdy and durable because I've had my cutting mishaps and the machine has stood up and not broken the plastic parts.
