It moves the air, and not too loud.
There is a lot going on here. The building I am in... has a bunch of issues, that the superintendent seemed to find creative ways to work around. The Vent that I've rigged seemed to have a box inside with a side hole on the inside. It looks like it fits an enclosed exhaust vent, the light switch is conveniently under this vent. It looks like when they remodeled this building it had its own fan that was attached to the light, like how you would typically find. Speaking to these gentlemen they explained that there is a massive fan on the roof and it's all a passive system that should work.It does not work. You poop and the smell will travel. The problem with a system like this is airflow. They didn't think about the vairying pressures across the different connected apartments and ones who have their windows open will have a working exhaust, and since I belive in Air Conditioning in the summer... Yea..So this fan, suspiciously... Supported by what looks like a creative idiot... Me... Works! The bathroom is kinda small to mid sized, 6x9 just about, and it will clear the smell in like 4 minutes. There is a lot going on. I'm sorry that I am not technical enough to give you valuable information, but I'm pretty sure what I have to say has some value?Noise: not as bad as a bathroom exhaust fan that is 2 decades old. If I foam the frame and mount it probably it would be pretty silent.Effective Air Flow given the configuration: There is fluid dynamics or air flow dynamics that you have to think about when using this type of fan. Usually you need to have the correct blades andthe shape of the frame affects it.So basically.. The edges and center is very weak, but there is a ring where the flow of air is the strongest, if you are piping or pushing it into a hole like I am... You need to be smart enough to plan all this out before hand to make the flow of air most effective. My rough estimate, and this has no real measurement outside of me using my skin to sense it... It's about 6 inches. You probably want 2 or 3 inches funneling into the hole. Suffice it to say it will do the job your looking for it to do.The construction seems pretty good, you can probably kill someone by using this thing as a weapon.Connecting it directly to the AC wall power... It take about 24 seconds for it to reach top speed. Lol there is no pot to control its speed, so the varying changes in Voltage causes it to slow and speed up, but it's running at Top speed. If you have bad ears and not OCD like me you might not notice. I highly recommend the dial thing for $14 bucks, that I saw Amazon recommend.I'll be moving out in a year and I have a house in Maryland. I will repurpose this for my shed. Lol it's half tool shed and it's walled off to have a chicken coup. I'm sure my girls will appreciate this fan attached to a relay that's controlled by temperature. LolI hope this helps, this fan was overkill for what I need.. And I'm sure it will make you happy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works with Lincoln MIG 140!
Reviewed in the United States on December 10, 2023
The fan on my MIG welder was dying but didn't want to pay $55 for a fan so thos worked! The spec is almost the same but otherwise it's 120V so I simply cut off the old fan off and bolted this one.

The polarity won't matter as it's 120V AC. You only need to take off the screws on the red cover and the one facing the front to dislocate the handle. Very easy!
