A: in the US market
and
B: have two functional keys with dead remote lock/unlock
So this was perfect for me: all I needed was the 315mHz guts. Popped it open (no glue, thankfully!), took the circuit board out, popped it in to one of my existing key shells with their immobilizer chips, and paired it no problem.
As other reviewers and the product page itself have noted, this doesn't have an immobilizer chip, so even if you get it cut and pair the remote, it won't start the car.
But, for my specific need to bring a dead remote back to life, it was perfect, pulled apart easily and the electronics worked.

1. Sit in the car with all doors closed(but in the unlock position).
2. Put a functioning key into the ignition(or the key if cut already, I just used my broken one).
3. Turn the key to the on position and then back off. (only to the first position, not to the second(everything on))
4. Take the key out of the ignition(within 5 seconds).
Note: you have 30 seconds to finish the programming at this point
5. On the new key press and hold the unlock button (arrow).
6. Press and release the lock button (BMW logo/center button) 3 times with 2-second spacing between pressing this center button(count your Mississippi(s)).
7. The locks in the car should move and you should now be able to use the remote to lock, unlock, and open your trunk.
(try a few times, if still unsuccessfully, try changing the freq on the fob, might be on 433)
------
I used my own second key which died of water damage, and I used the new circuit card fob part in it. So I didn't need cutting. It took a while to program because the steps I was using did not have the seconds between key pressing in them. Wvan Goyuk made a youtube on this "BMW Key fob Program DIY" that I followed.
TLDR:
If you can’t program it try this:
1. Press and hold the unlock button (arrow).
2. Press and release the trunk button 5 times.
3. Release the unlock button.
4. Now try programming in your car.

Just be sure to have all of your key fobs near by to possibly program them all at the same time in case your car removes your old/original ones.
