Nice replacement for Norcold 1200

Nice replacement for Norcold 1200
I used this Everchill 11 cubic ft 12 volt compressor fridge to replace a Norcold 1200 that was not working well in our motorhome. The Everchill is only 1 cubic ft smaller on the inside and much smaller on the outside than the Norcold, but I feel I have the same amount of fridge space and more freezer space. I had enough room along the side to add a pull out pantry after removing the Norcold. There was 3 inches of space above the new fridge. I cut 2 more inches and raised the fridge up on a platform so I could put 2 large drawers underneath. This fridge is quit and keeps things at the right temperature. The freezer stays around 9 degrees and the fridge stays in safe temperature range. I at first had it set too high and things were freezing in the fridge. It can be powered off and on by pressing a button on the inside. It has LED lights and a T handle that flips over the doors and keeps the doors from coming open going around curves. The door shelves are fixed so they will not fall off like the Norcold and brake bottles and dent soda cans. I love this new fridge so far and all the storage space I gained around it by the added pantry and drawers. It was a great upgrade to the Norcold 1200.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great unit for the RV.
Reviewed in the United States on May 23, 2021
I just finished installing it into my Class A. Was alarmed at what I found after removing the original Dometic unit, see pics....

The first pic shows the 'crispy' 120 and 12 volt wiring in back of cabinet. The second shows the Dometic's cooling unit in place after removed from fridge box. Note where the RV builder ran the power cables. No wonder there are a lot of RV fires blamed on the refer unit.

The 3rd pic shows the almost complete installation (I still need to seal around fridge box). 4th pic shows full side view and final is with unit running and doors open.

I purchased mounting brackets for a different model fridge from etrailer (couldn't find any for this model). Two identical brackets arrived and one fit perfectly to bottom of fridge, but the top bracket holes didn't line up and required re-drilling. After install unit is very solid.

3.0 out of 5 stars Refrigerator Section is Weak
Reviewed in the United States on May 20, 2021
I have this Ever Chill 12v refrigerator (rebranded as Magic Chef) installed in my 2021 Flagstaff travel trailer. The freezer section works great and the 10.7cuft size is wonderful, but the refrigerator section of my unit struggles to maintain a temperature below 50F. The design does not seem to circulate a lot of air in the refrigerator section, also resulting in 10 degrees warmer in the bottom. I COULD NOT GET ANYONE TO ANSWER AS TO WHAT THE TEMPERATURE SETTING LIGHT "FLASHING" MEANS. One theory that I am going to investigate further is perhaps its not the refrigerator's fault but the electrical supply. When plugged in to shore power the refrigerator works fine (perhaps because the power convertor on the trailer provides 13.7v). But running on batteries (12.6v) the light flashes, so perhaps maybe a battery or wiring (too small of gauge) problem. UPDATE TO FOLLOW
