Hail eTopxizu! Side-by-side comparison with Meanwell power supply.

Hail eTopxizu! Side-by-side comparison with Meanwell power supply.
First off, awesome name! I admit, I probably picked this knock-off because it sounds like an omnipotent Aztec warrior god. Well done.I compared this side-by-side with my genuine MeanWell NES-350-12 Mean Well NES-350-12 12V 350 Watt Ul Switching Power Supply 110-240 Volt. I also did a test with a 1.2 ohm load (a hotplate) to see how this eTopxizu does.In the photo, the eTopxizu is on the left, the meanwell is on the right. The usual differences are seen in the eTopxizu (god of ampere smoting): non-brand components, thinner chassis, less robust terminal strip, fullwave rectifier lacking heatsink, lower tolerance parts, different switching IC, more crowded PCB. It does have a good fuse, and robust enough components. Pretty darn good, really -- great for the cost $20 vs $50...If I were to drive this supply really hard, I might add some more thermal grease to the fets and replace the terminal strip with something that will do 10A per lug -- really not sure this one won't, but I've had bad luck with under-rated connectors on clones. Otherwise, looks mighty good.I'm glad I have the meanwell, as I know it will last and last and last and could be dropped down a staircase and still last some more. Every meanwell I have used has been topnotch and lasted for at least 10 years. However, I don't need that level of perfection on everything I do, so I am very happy with this as a 12V supply for 3D printer or laser or lighting. This one won't last forever, nor do I intend to run it at 350W continuous (yep, the meanwell could handle that), but all hail eTopixisu god of thrift and value! Finally, I connected a 1.2 ohm hot plate. The amazing ohm's law says this draws 158.4 watts at 12V. It did, indeed deliver full current to the load. I measured the wattage going into the power supply, which was 184 Watts initially, and then settled to 176 watts or so. That's 89% efficient -- not bad. The chassis did not get warm, nor did the fan come on during this 4 minute test.Again, eTopxisu! May you reign mightily over the amperes with your obsidian knife of current!

4.0 out of 5 stars Works fine - fan isn't too noisy.
Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2020
I ordered two of these to power up car stereo equipment, one is shown in the photo. It's a Kenwood marine deck mounted in a gutted subwoofer enclosure that I use to listen to CDs, radio, and I plug a 1980s-era Technics turntable into the aux input through a $20 preamp to enjoy vinyl with it as well.
These power supplies run relatively cool, but I'm not driving them anywhere near their limits. They don't seem to create any hum or whine through the speakers like some power supplies do.
Both arrived quickly and worked fine out of the box, but one was apparently dropped or boxed carelessly because the case was dented and pushed out of shape. It didn't appear to be serious enough to affect anything inside, so I pushed it back into shape and wired it up.
I've left these plugged in for a couple of months now so the station presets aren't lost and they still work fine. The one in the house rarely if ever turns the fan on, but the one out in the garage came on a couple of times when the ambient temp was 80-90 degrees.
I wouldn't hesitate to purchase one again. If there was a 4.5 star rating that's what I'd have gone with.
